Hola, I’m Yeli

I grew up in a Mexican household where emotions weren’t always openly expressed. For a long time, I struggled to understand what I was feeling and how to express it.

Early on, art became an outlet for me to express myself without the need to explain anything to anyone. Creating art has always brought me a sense of tranquility, allowing me to feel more in tune with myself.

That’s something I want others to feel as well; that’s why I’ve created Sana Sana.

Sana Sana is a space where we can create not just any art but mindful art. Within this space, we are allowed to be and create without judgment, while also slowing down, reflecting, and exploring mindfulness together.

I decided to call this space sana sana por el dicho que many of us heard growing up: “Sana Sana colita de rana, si no sanas hoy sanarás mañana.

Translation: “Heal Heal frog butt, if you do not heal today, then you will heal tomorrow.”

In many ways, that’s what this is about: acknowledging the pain and holding out hope that things will get better. Sometimes it begins slowly…one moment, one thought, one brushstroke at a time

¡Bienvenidos a Sana Sana!

What to expect at a Sana Sana Workshop?

Each Sana Sana session is designed to gently guide you into a space of reflection, creativity, and connection.

We begin by getting to know one another and creating a sense of comfort within the group.

From there, we move into light somatic stretching and a short meditation to help you slow down, ground yourself, and arrive fully in the moment.

You’ll then be introduced to a reflection prompt — something to sit with and carry with you as you begin creating.

Through a guided watercolor painting, you’ll have the space to express yourself freely, without pressure or expectation.

Toward the end of the session, you’ll be invited to reflect more deeply on your experience and reconnect with the prompt in a way that feels natural to you.

We close with a moment of positive affirmation, leaving you feeling more grounded, present, and connected.
